Hornets receive: Derrick Rose, Cam Reddish, 2023 1st-Round Pick (via DAL)

Knicks receive: Terry Rozier

This trade may seem a bit weird considering the Knicks just signed Jalen Brunson, but it would actually make a ton of sense for both teams, as it would fill some needs.

For the Hornets, this deal would see them maintain their guard depth while also adding some help at the wing position. Plus, obviously, netting a first-round pick would be nice, too.

Rose has proven that he can be a formidable backup point guard, so he’d make up for some of what Charlotte would be losing in Rozier. They would likely bring him off the bench, though.

As for Reddish, Charlotte could give him a fresh start. He’s shown flashes of real potential, and if he can grow into the two-way player people believe he can be, he’d be a nice asset for them.

On the flip side, the Knicks would be setting themselves up to contend for a playoff spot. Rolling out a backcourt of Jalen Brunson and Rozier alongside RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson would be a nice group.

Rozier’s shot-making and shooting would pair beautifully with Brunson in the backcourt. He’s a serious upgrade at the guard position and would help them stay competitive in the East.
