The Detroit Pistons have long been touted as a potential destination for Miles Bridges. They have an exciting young core and showed some real promise in the latter half of this past season.
Detroit has built a promising young core and will add to it even more with their pick in the upcoming 2022 NBA Draft. They’re likely to land a top-three pick and could add another generational talent to their roster.
Saddiq Bey and Jerami Grant have been holding down the forward positions for the Pistons for the past two seasons. However, with Grant involved in so many trade rumors, they could look to get Bey a new partner in crime.
Miles Bridges is just 24 years old and would fit in seamlessly with what the Pistons are trying to accomplish. Not only does he fit on their timeline, but he would fit in well with their playstyle, too.
Detroit plays physical basketball and plays hard on the defensive side of the ball. Bridges is one of the most energetic players in the league and would match the energy of the Pistons.
Plus, he’d go from playing with one up-and-coming point guard in LaMelo Ball to another in Cade Cunningham. He’d still be able to catch the same lobs he does in Charlotte.
The Pistons have enough money to throw him a contract this summer, and if he’s interested in moving teams, they should definitely do that.

Charlotte Hornets finished the season with the 10th-best record in the Eastern Conference, landing in the Play-In Tournament. Unfortunately, they were blown out in the Play-In for the second year in a row.</p>

It’s looking like they have some big-time decisions to make this summer, including one that involves young forward Miles Bridges.</p>
<p>This past summer, Bridges and the Hornets couldn’t agree on a contract extension. Now, Bridges will be a restricted free agent this offseason.</p>
<p>While it’s extremely likely that the Hornets will match any offer he receives, there’s always a chance they don’t. What teams would Bridges fit best with outside of Charlotte?</p>

In addition, they’re set to have a <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2022/05/12/miles-bridges-charlotte-hornets/2/"https://airalamo.com/posts/san-antonio-spurs-is-miles-bridges-worth-max-contract" target="_blank" rel="noopener">decent amount of cap space this summer</a>.</p>
<p>With Dejounte Murray at the helm, Keldon Johnson at the four, and Jakob Poeltl at the center position, adding an electrifying young small forward to the mix could help take them to the next level.</p>
<p>Since the Spurs have the money, throwing Bridges a contract would be smart. Even if the Hornets choose to match it, the offer would at least show that San Antonio is interested.</p>
<p>Bridges would be a cog on a defensive-minded Spurs roster while also acting as one of their primary scorers. Plus, he’d benefit from learning from one of the best coaches in the business.</p>

<h2>3 landing spots for Miles Bridges that aren’t the Charlotte Hornets: Portland Trail Blazers</h2>
<p>The <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2022/05/12/miles-bridges-charlotte-hornets/2/"https://hoopshabit.com/western-conference/portland-trail-blazers/">Portland Trail Blazers <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2022/05/12/miles-bridges-charlotte-hornets/2/"https://www.nba.com/news/blazers-hire-joe-cronin-general-manager" target="_blank" rel="noopener">just promoted Joe Cronin</a>, making him their full-time GM. In doing so, they’ve made it clear that their plan is to build around Damian Lillard moving forward.</p>
<p>This means making trades, drafting well, and attacking the free agency market. Since there aren’t many great unrestricted free agents set to be available, throwing money at restricted free agents could be smart.</p>
<p>Aside from Deandre Ayton, Miles Bridges would be the best restricted free agent the Blazers could attempt to sign. And with how weird of a place the organization is in right now, he’s the perfect candidate.</p>
<p>Portland is stuck in NBA purgatory. They aren’t quite good enough to be a contender, but at full health, they also aren’t bad enough to earn a top pick in the draft.</p>
<p>By signing Bridges, Portland would give Lillard a talented, young co-star to help him push towards the playoffs. However, if everything goes downhill, Bridges would also act as a quality building block for the future.</p>
<p>If the Blazers wanted to compete for a championship, they would have to add a free agent (like Bridges) and also trade for another star player. But as mentioned, Bridges would be the perfect player to help bridge the gap. (No pun intended.)</p>
