The Charlotte Hornets finished the season with the 10th-best record in the Eastern Conference, landing in the Play-In Tournament. Unfortunately, they were blown out in the Play-In for the second year in a row.

In response, they parted ways with head coach James Borrego. It’s looking like they have some big-time decisions to make this summer, including one that involves young forward Miles Bridges.

This past summer, Bridges and the Hornets couldn’t agree on a contract extension. Now, Bridges will be a restricted free agent this offseason.

While it’s extremely likely that the Hornets will match any offer he receives, there’s always a chance they don’t. What teams would Bridges fit best with outside of Charlotte?

The San Antonio Spurs are a young, hungry, up-and-coming team that also made the Play-In Tournament this season. In addition, they’re set to have a decent amount of cap space this summer.

With Dejounte Murray at the helm, Keldon Johnson at the four, and Jakob Poeltl at the center position, adding an electrifying young small forward to the mix could help take them to the next level.

Since the Spurs have the money, throwing Bridges a contract would be smart. Even if the Hornets choose to match it, the offer would at least show that San Antonio is interested.

Bridges would be a cog on a defensive-minded Spurs roster while also acting as one of their primary scorers. Plus, he’d benefit from learning from one of the best coaches in the business.
