NBA trades are everyone’s favorite topic of discussion right now with the 2022 deadline on the horizon. With rumors swirling across the association, here is a target for every team in the NBA’s Northwest Division to pursue before the February 10 trade deadline.
Northwest Division NBA trades: Denver Nuggets – Justin Holiday
The Denver Nuggets may have already made their trade deadline push in a recent three-team deal that helped them land sharpshooter Bryn Forbes. However, if they are not quite satisfied and want to keep exploring the market, one trade target that makes sense is Justin Holiday.
Holiday is a solid 3-and-D wing that could bolster Denver’s bench as they navigate through their multitude of injury issues. Offensively, the 32-year-old is having one of his best NBA seasons yet by averaging 11 points while shooting 37.5 percent from behind the arc on a career-high seven attempts per game.
Considering Denver’s bench currently ranks 21st in the league in bench points this season at 33.2 per game, someone like Holiday could help improve their subpar second unit. On the defensive end, the 6-foot-6 swingman would give the Nuggets another defender that can guard multiple positions.
With The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Bob Kravitz (subscription required) reporting in December that the Indiana Pacers are potentially eyeing a rebuild, it is reasonable to believe they may trade Holiday if teams called with a reasonable offer.
To acquire him, the Nuggets would have to absorb the remaining amount of his $6 million salary for this season, which is very doable. As they look to keep their playoff hopes intact amidst a string of devastating injuries, the Nuggets could improve their chances by adding another household rotational player like Holiday.
