4 Jerami Grant trades based on recent NBA rumors: New York Knicks

To put it bluntly, it is tough to imagine any sort of trade scenario that just involves the Detroit Pistons and the New York Knicks. With the Pistons hoping to acquire young talent while staying mostly financially flexible, the Knicks just do not fit the bill.

Knicks Get
Jerami Grant
Cory Joseph
Pistons Get
Kemba Walker
Mitchell Robinson
Kevin Knox
Obi Toppin

Ideally, Evan Fournier would not be involved given his prohibitive contract. So out comes the platter of something. Kemba Walker makes a decent amount of money and would likely not be opposed to a buyout. Kevin Knox and Mitchell Robinson are young players on expiring contracts, providing worthy fliers without any sort of long-term commitment.

Obi Toppin is the prize of this trade package, which tells you all you need to know about where the Knicks should stand. Toppin has looked much better this season with an increased opportunity could live up to his full potential.

He would provide an interesting lob threat for Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes to try to get the most out of. However, if this is the best prospect that the Knicks can reasonably put on the table to get Grant back, the Pistons have to be able to do better than that. Sorry Knicks fans, but it is not meant to be.
