NBA Trades: One Ben Simmons trade for every NBA team

ATLANTA, GEORGIA – JUNE 18: Ben Simmons #25 of the Philadelphia 76ers calls out a play against the Atlanta Hawks during the first half of game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at State Farm Arena on June 18, 2021 in Atlanta, Georgia. Trade ideas always get the NBA universe buzzing. This season, most of those discussions have centered on Ben Simmons. There was news last week that the Philadelphia 76ers have a rather lengthy list of players that they would be willing to take back in any NBA trades for the perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate.

In that vein, today we will look at a way for each team in the league to get into the running for Simmons. Ben Simmons is the most talked about player on the trade block. What would a potential Ben Simmons trade for each of the other 29 teams look like?

Some of these NBA trades will make complete sense for both sides. Others will completely showcase why a move has not been made yet, and likely never will. Simmons is not the perfect fit for every team, including the one he is currently on. This will be a thought exercise to figure out why the Ben Simmons trade market is so muddled while also having a little bit of fun with various NBA trades machines.

We will not be prognosticating one who would get waived in the situation that a Ben Simmons trade would result in too many players on a given roster. We also will not be addressing the specific draft compensation that would have to be involved to consummate a Ben Simmons trade, given how over the top some of those inclusions have been in recent seasons. This is simply about the kind of players that could be brought in to benefit Joel Embiid and the rest of the roster.

<div class="details"> <div class="team-name">Hawks Get</div> <div class="info">Ben Simmons</div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <p>After making it all the way to the Conference Finals a season ago (famously resulting in the moment that got the world to this point with Ben Simmons), the Atlanta Hawks find themselves at something of a turning point.</p> <p>They have entered the season with sky-high expectations and to date, they are not quite meeting them (currently on the outside of the play-in). Some have thrown around the idea of a consolidation trade. There are plenty of players on the roster who deserve minutes, causing a roster log-jam.</p> <p>Danilo Gallinari was brought in last season and contributed a solid amount, but with John Collins remaining on the roster, the fit is complicated. Gallinari is seeing the lowest number of minutes per game since his rookie season and a change of scenery would do him well.</p> <p>Prior to this season, he had shot greater than 40 percent from distance, which would fit perfectly into the offensive game plan for the Sixers.</p> <p>Cam Reddish has shown flashes of the talent that got him drafted so highly, but with so many wings on the roster, he struggles to find many opportunities.</p> <p>Finally, Onyeka Okongwu is the kind of young player teams should be trying to steal away. He was a defensive stalwart as a rookie and would be a solid option off the bench.</p> <div class="next-slide slider"> <a class="next-slide-btn" style="background:#bb2c32" data-track="shortcode" data-track-action="next-slide-shortcode" href=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/11/24/nba-trades-ben-simmons-trade/"#"> <span class="title">Next:</span> Boston Celtics </a> </div><!—pageview_candidate—><hr id="pagebreak"><div id="attachment_438540" class="wp-caption aligncenter"> <img class="size-full wp-image-438540" src=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/11/24/nba-trades-ben-simmons-trade/"https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/fetch/c_fill,g_auto,f_auto,h_2134,w_3200/http%3A%2F%2Fhoopshabit.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Fgetty-images%2F2018%2F08%2F1351955871.jpeg" alt="" width="3200" height="2134" srcset="https://hoopshabit.com/wp-content/uploads/getty-images/2018/08/1351955871.jpeg 3200w, https://hoopshabit.com/wp-content/uploads/getty-images/2018/08/1351955871-768x512.jpeg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 3200px) 100vw, 3200px"><div class="fs-center-img"> <p class="wp-caption-text" style="width:3200px;">(Photo by Michael Reaves/Getty Images)</p> </div> </div> <h2>NBA Trades: One Ben Simmons trade for every NBA team – Boston Celtics</h2> <div class="fs-shortcode" data-type="Trade" data-team-ids="[93,18]" data-team-gets='[["Jaylen Brown","Marcus Smart"],["Ben Simmons"]]'> <div class="playertrade remove-native-227"> <div class="trade"> <div class="team a"> <div class="logo"><img src=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/11/24/nba-trades-ben-simmons-trade/"https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/fetch/w_75,h_75,c_fill,g_auto,f_auto/https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.fansided.com%2Flogos%2Fnba%2F76ers.png">
