The Los Angeles Lakers struggled to do much of anything last season. They missed the Play-In entirely and are now left with the scraps of their failed experiment.

In order to get back to a place of contention, they will need to add some serious help. But since they have little to no money to spend, the best way for them to do that will be via the trade market.

Again, though, they don’t have many assets to work with. If they want to add pieces that will make them a contending team, they are going to have to get creative, and that’s exactly what this three-team trade would do.

NBA Trades: 3-team trade lands Myles Turner on Los Angeles Lakers

Lakers receive: Myles Turner

Pacers receive: Kyle Kuzma, Talen-Horton Tucker, 2025 1st-Round Pick (Lottery Protected via WAS), 2027 1st-Round Pick (Lottery Protected via LAL)

Wizards receive: Malcolm Brogdon, Kendrick Nunn

Starting off with the Lakers’ point of view, this deal should be a no-brainer for them. It would land them a starting center to pair with Anthony Davis in the frontcourt moving forward.

Myles Turner’s defensive presence down low would pair beautifully with Davis’, and his three-point shooting would make life much easier for the Lakers on offense.

They’d be giving up Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn, and a future first-round pick in this deal, but if they want to compete for another title with LeBron James, that’s just the cost of doing business.

Los Angeles has been hesitant to part ways with their future picks, but at some point they’re going to have to accept the inevitable and make the sacrifice.
