Without question, Duncan Robinson is one of the greatest success stories in the history of the Miami Heat. Undrafted out of Michigan by way of Division III Williams College, Robinson had to defy the odds to find a landing in the NBA.
And through a combination of personal self-belief and an organization with a proven track record of excelling in player development, Robinson rapidly developed into one of the most feared snipers in the league.
In his breakout season of 2019-20, Robinson joined Stephen Curry as the only other player in NBA history to shoot at least 44 percent from three-point range on at least 600 total attempts.

But after signing a five-year, $90 million last offseason, Robinson never truly found his footing all season, eventually being permanently replaced by Max Strus in the starting lineup in late March.
Come the postseason, and despite an electric 27-point performance that included hitting 8-of-9 from long range in the opening game of the playoffs, Robinson was then somewhat of an afterthought, having five games in which he did not hit the court, and a further six games in which his minutes played did not reach double figures.
So, although his per 36 minutes output this past season basically mirrored that of his season prior, it would appear from the outside that Robinson already has one foot out the door, especially considering the emergence of Strus and his team-friendly deal for next season.
