They gave him the green light to shoot the long ball, meaning that he took 2.1 per game. He made an impressive 35.9 percent of them which is helpful from a 6’8″ combination power forward/center.
To put it into greater perspective, he took 156 attempts from behind the three-point line with the Raptors and only one attempt in his rookie season with the Miami Heat.
Achiuwa is only due $2.8 million next season, which is gold for the Raptors. They need to get another few solid rotation pieces into their squad which will make them a tougher team to beat. They could use another big man to add to their rotation which will be easier to get with the cap space that they have available.
Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs, who dispatched them in the matchup.

The Raptors have all the pieces to be a competitive unit in the NBA but in order to take the next step, they need to make a few adjustments. Pascal Siakam is one of the hardest players in the league to defend and rookie Scottie Barnes typifies the way that the Raptors play.

5 roster moves the Toronto Raptors need to make this offseason: 1. Move on from Thaddeus Young

Prior to the trade deadline, the Raptors sent Goran Dragic to the San Antonio Spurs and one of the pieces that the Raptors received back was <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2022/06/19/5-roster-moves-toronto-raptors-need-make-offseason/2/"https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/y/youngth01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&utm_source=direct&utm_medium=linker-%22 target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" ref="nofollow">Thaddeus Young. At 33 years old, Young is a 14-year NBA veteran who has played for seven different teams during that time. He has bought his toughness and determination to every team that he has played on.

Last season saw Young’s playing time drop for both the Spurs and Raptors and as such he saw his production drop. This is not a problem usually, except that Young had a $14 million contract last season. He is going to be looking for one last payday and the Raptors need to get a player who is a better fit for their timeline.

Raptors traded for Goran Dragic, the addition of Precious Achiuwa appeared to be to make salaries match. He was a big body that was good in the pick and roll, creating space for his guards. Well, that was the old Achiuwa. When he arrived at the Raptors, they saw a different way to use the big man.

Golden State Warriors in his rookie season before joining the Raptors in the next season.

Boucher was one of the shining lights for the Raptors in the season when they were not allowed to go back to Canada to play their home games. He had career highs in points, rebounds, assists, and blocks per game while also shooting the ball very impressively.

Boucher’s numbers regressed last season but he was playing a different role. He has spent most of his career at the center position, but with the addition of Khem Birch and Achiuwa, Boucher played at the four more than he has since his sophomore season.

It is this versatility that is going to serve the Raptors well over the next contract period. If they can sign Boucher for about $10.0 million a season they will still have a decent amount of cap space to tempt quality players north of the border.
