In a recent article, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report detailed five of his boldest offseason predictions. One of the five was that the Denver Nuggets will trade Michael Porter Jr.

Through his four NBA seasons, Porter has appeared in only 125 games. He missed his entire first season and has yet to play in more than 61 games in a single year.

This past season, Porter only played in only nine games after undergoing back surgery early in the season. It left Nikola Jokic alone once again to fend for himself in a tightly-packed Western Conference.

Denver handed the young forward a max contract not too long ago, but as they attempt to win now, trading him could prove to be fruitful. Here are three potential trades for Porter that could help the Nuggets.

And keep in mind, any team trading for Porter Jr. will be keeping his injury history in mind. He has star potential, but he’s also a huge risk at this point in his career, as he’s been insanely injury-prone.

Trading Porter Jr. for a star player is not an easy feat. It would take the right situation involving the right team who would be willing to take the risk.

There’s no guaranteeing that Porter Jr. is ever able to completely get over his injury issues. Unfortunately, that may be something he deals with for his entire career.

In turn, the Nuggets could choose to trade him for quality depth pieces rather than keep him around and take that risk themselves. So, here’s two potential trades: One for depth pieces and one for a star.
