The Sacramento Kings have been desperately trying to end their playoff drought. This trade would help them do that, and it would also help the Rockets get younger.
Marvin Bagley III has made it abundantly clear that he doesn’t want to be in Sacramento, and the Kings have made it clear that they don’t want to play him. Trading him is the only real path forward.
At only 22 years old, there is still plenty of time for Bagley to develop into a solid player. Taking a chance on the former second-overall pick could be a great idea for the Rockets.
He would get a ton of minutes and would have full control over that frontcourt. As seen with Kevin Porter Jr., the Rockets do love taking a chance on young players who never got along with their first team.
The Rockets would also receive Jahmi’us Ramsey and significant draft capital in this trade. For what they are giving up, it’s actually pretty solid value.
Meanwhile, the Kings would get a player to help them push for the playoffs. Christian Wood’s spacing could allow him to play the four next to Richaun Holmes.
Both teams would be able to benefit from this deal. Houston gets a young player to take a chance on and the Kings get a quality player to add to their frontcourt.

<p>They traded their franchise star, James Harden, last season and have officially entered a full-on rebuild. Houston’s main focus is going to develop its young talent.</p>
<p>Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. are the faces of the team right now at 19 and 21 years old, respectively. In addition, they have Josh Christopher (19), Alperen Sengun (19), Usman Garuba (19), and Kenyon Martin Jr. (20) among others.</p>
<p>Wood is already 26 years old, so he might not fit the timeline of Houston’s current core. With that in mind, what are some trades they could do to get some value back for Wood?</p>

<p>The Chicago Bulls have been one of the most surprising teams in the NBA this year. If they are serious about contending for a title, then why not try a blockbuster deal.</p>
<p>Houston would get some great young assets in this deal, but the star of the show is Coby White. He would be able to come in and be this team’s starting point guard with Green and Porter Jr. running the wings.</p>
<p>Derrick Jones Jr. and Troy Brown Jr. are solid players, too, while Alize Johnson would be more of a throw-in. They would also receive a first-round pick in the deal.</p>
<p>Chicago would get a solid paint protector and post scorer, while the Rockets would get even younger. It’s definitely a wild trade, but it could be worth considering for Houston.</p>
