For most NBA stars, being named an NBA All-Star is a dream come true. There are only so many players who can be named to the game each year, so it really is quite an honor.
Each conference only names five starters (two guards, three frontcourt players) and seven reserves (two guards, three frontcourt players, two wild cards). The wild card players can be of any position.
Last year, there were a ton of first-time All-Stars, and there could be more who make the game this year. With how weird the NBA is shaping out, anyone could make the game.
With that being said, let’s start keeping track of which players are most likely to make the All-Star game. Who is going to be playing in the 2022 NBA All-Star game?
NBA All-Star Predictions: Week 3 power rankings
How this will work is every Monday a list of 12 players will come out. Those 12 players are the ones who are most likely to make the All-Star game if it were to start that day.
It’s important to note that this is all a matter of opinion, and some people could think differently than others. That being said, there are a bunch of factors that will go into this.
First and foremost, the individual players’ success will have to be accounted for. In addition to that, how well their team is doing will play a big role, as a player on a winning team should make the game over someone on a losing team.
Also, predicting starters is too difficult, as that comes down to fan voting. There will be no delegated starters, and the players will be organized in ABC order, as well as by guards (G) and frontcourt players (F).
There will also be a section for players who just missed the cut. Without further adieu, who would make the All-Star game if it were to start right now, just three weeks into the season?
such a dominant team that Donovan Mitchell absolutely deserves to make the team. He’s still somehow one of the most underrated players in the NBA.

G – Ja Morant

Ja Morant has been carrying the Grizzlies this season, and will undoubtedly be making his first All-Star appearance this year. The leap he has taken this year is incredible.

G – Chris Paul

Chris Paul may not have stats that jump off of the page, but his impact is undeniable. For a player like him to be putting up a career-high number of assists this late into his career is astounding.

F – Harrison Barnes

This has to be one of the most surprising All-Star predictions, but it is very well-deserved. Harrison Barnes has been absolutely amazing for the Kings so far this season.

F – Anthony Davis

The Lakers only deserve to have one All-Star with how bad they’ve been, and Anthony Davis has been the most consistent. LeBron James would be a clear choice, and will likely make it solely off his name alone, but he’s missed too much time so far and will continue to do so.

F – Paul George

With Kawhi Leonard sidelined, Paul George has been stepping up in a big way. The Clippers struggled out of the gate, but he has been helping them turn things around as of late.

F – Rudy Gobert

Anchoring one of the league’s best defenses should be an easy bid to make the All-Star team. Rudy Gobert has helped the Jazz be one of the more dominant teams in the league so far.

F – Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic is putting up numbers that might even be better than the ones from his MVP season last year. He’s going to be an All-Star every year for a long time.

F – Karl-Anthony Towns

After a brief drought, Karl Anthony-Towns should find his way back into the All-Star game this year. He is quietly putting together a phenomenal season for the Timberwolves.

Just missed the cut: Devin Booker, Mike Conley, Anthony Edwards, Draymond Green, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, LeBron James, Damian Lillard

NBA All-Star Predictions: Week 3 power rankings – Eastern Conference

G – Bradley Beal

The Wizards have been one of the biggest surprises of the season, and while Bradley Beal has been cold at times, he’s still their best player. He should be an All-Star lock if they keep up this pace.

G – James Harden

The Nets have turned things around and so has James Harden. He’s one of the best guards in the league and is an obvious choice for the All-Star game year in and year out.

G – Tyler Herro

Tyler Herro is an early candidate for Sixth Man of the Year, but he’s playing well enough to earn an All-Star nod. The Heat have been spectacular, and he’s a big part of that.

G – Zach LaVine

Zach LaVine is playing for a new contract right now and boy is he earning the big bucks. He has helped lead the Bulls to a solid start and what will likely be their first playoff appearance in years.

F – Bam Adebayo

Bam Adebayo is a defensive monster who has anchored Miami’s defense so far this season. He’s putting up career-high numbers and is a clear choice for the All-Star game.

F – Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Bucks have been struggling, but Giannis Antetokounmpo is too good to leave out of the All-Star game. He’ll get voted in based on popularity, but he deserves to be there, anyways.

F – Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler would be the Heat’s third All-Star, and they definitely deserve it. They are one of the top teams in the NBA, and Butler will not only be an All-Star but an MVP candidate as well.

F – DeMar DeRozan

Just when people thought DeMar DeRozan’s prime was over, he goes on to have one of the best years of his career. He and LaVine are leading the Bulls in tandem, and they both deserve to be on the All-Star team.

F – Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant is having one of the best seasons in the league that no one seems to be talking about. The Nets have turned things around and he is showing why he’s one of the greatest players of all time.

F – Joel Embiid

The 76ers are the hottest team in basketball right now and Joel Embiid is their leader. His dominance cannot be understated, and an All-Star appearance is all but inevitable.

F – Tobias Harris

With Ben Simmons out, Tobias Harris is finally getting his chance to shine. His great play should easily be enough to get him into the first All-Star game of his career.

F – Julius Randle

The Knicks have cooled off a bit, but Julius Randle still looks great. He is their leader, and as long as they are a playoff team, he’ll be a shoo-in for the All-Star game this year.

Just missed the cut: Jarrett Allen, OG Anunoby, LaMelo Ball, RJ Barrett, Jaylen Brown, Miles Bridges, Darius Garland, Montrezl Harrell, Jayson Tatum, Fred VanVleet, Trae Young
