NBA Trades: 3 Memphis Grizzlies trades that would shock the NBA: Indiana Pacers

Grizzlies receive: Myles Turner

Pacers receive: Brandon Clarke, Danny Green, 2024 1st-Round Pick (Lottery Protected)

The Pacers have been reportedly shopping Turner for a long while now, and the Grizzlies could benefit from what he brings to the floor, as it would create a terrifying defensive frontcourt.

Turner and Jaren Jackson Jr. would be a lethal combo, as both are great defenders who can also space the floor on offense. It would give Memphis a ton of versatility on both ends of the court.

Losing Clarke would be a big hit, as he played well for them in the postseason, but he’s entering the final year of his contract. If the Grizzlies wanted to make a splash, trading for Turner to form a huge frontcourt could be a smart move.

For the Pacers, this would help them finally enter a full-on rebuild. Clarke would fit in nicely alongside Tyrese Haliburton, and this trade would also open up more minutes for Isaiah Jackson.

Green would be included solely for salary-matching purposes, as he’s expected to miss the entirety of last season. Indiana could buy him out or simply keep him on the roster but away from the team as they did with Ricky Rubio last season.

Finally, the Pacers would receive a protected first-round pick, just like they got in the Brogdon trade. They’re entering a rebuild, and this trade makes sense for that direction.
