NBA Trades: 3-teamer would land Buddy Hield on New Orleans Pelicans: The teams involved

The first team involved is, obviously, the Pelicans. They would be getting the primary piece in this trade in an attempt to bolster their roster with some additional shooting.

With an abundance of versatile talent on the roster (Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, etc.), the Pelicans can afford to add some specialists, meaning players that are elite in one specific area.

Next, the Indiana Pacers would be the second team involved in this deal. They are in the middle of a full-on rebuild and have already begun to trade their veteran assets.

They dealt Malcolm Brogdon to the Boston Celtics earlier this offseason, and trading Buddy Hield would make a ton of sense, too. Even netting a first-rounder for Hield would be a solid trade for them.

Lastly, the final team involved in this trade would be the Los Angeles Lakers, as they are currently attempting to put a contending team around LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

They would act as a third team in this deal, adding a veteran asset and providing the Pacers with some picks and a young player that the Pelicans would be unwilling to give them.

All three teams would be getting players in this trade that would help them move closer to their end goal. For the Lakers and Pelicans, that would be competing for the playoffs, and for the Pacers, that would be rebuilding.

Hield would finally make his way back to the Pelicans after he started his career there years ago.</p> <p>Hield’s elite three-point shooting would help the Pelicans fill a huge area of need. He’s not great on the defensive end, but he would help space the floor for Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson.</p> <p>Giving up Devonte’ Graham shouldn’t be a huge deal for them, as they have plenty of guards on the roster. CJ McCollum, Jose Alvarado, and Dyson Daniels should make up for it.</p> <p>Indiana would be netting a first-round pick, a young project in Talen Horton-Tucker, and a ton of second-round picks from the Lakers in this trade.</p> <p>Horton-Tucker hasn’t been able to figure things out in Los Angeles, but with more freedom to play his game in Indiana, there’s always a chance that he could have a breakout season.</p> <p>Lastly, the Lakers would be getting a solid combo guard to put alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Graham’s playmaking and three-point shooting would be a huge addition to the squad.</p> <p>They would also be grabbing Naji Marshall, who, while he wouldn’t play a major role, would be a nice hustle player to have off the bench. This should be a no-brainer for the Lakers.</p> <div class="fs-shortcode" data-type="StoryLink" data-theme="dark" data-text="3 Donovan Mitchell trades for the Jazz" data-url="https://hoopshabit.com/2022/07/13/nba-trades-donovan-mitchell-utah-jazz/" data-call-to-action="Next"> <div class="story-link-next"> <a class="story-link-next-btn" style="background:#222423" data-track="shortcode" data-track-action="story-link-next-shortcode" href=https://hoopshabit.com/2022/07/14/nba-trades-buddy-hield-new-orleans-pelicans/2/"https://hoopshabit.com/2022/07/13/nba-trades-donovan-mitchell-utah-jazz/"> <span class="call_to_action">Next:</span> 3 Donovan Mitchell trades for the Jazz </a> </div> </div><!—pageview_candidate—>">
