NBA Trades: 3-teamer would land Buddy Hield on New Orleans Pelicans: The teams involved
The first team involved is, obviously, the Pelicans. They would be getting the primary piece in this trade in an attempt to bolster their roster with some additional shooting.
With an abundance of versatile talent on the roster (Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, etc.), the Pelicans can afford to add some specialists, meaning players that are elite in one specific area.
Next, the Indiana Pacers would be the second team involved in this deal. They are in the middle of a full-on rebuild and have already begun to trade their veteran assets.
They dealt Malcolm Brogdon to the Boston Celtics earlier this offseason, and trading Buddy Hield would make a ton of sense, too. Even netting a first-rounder for Hield would be a solid trade for them.
Lastly, the final team involved in this trade would be the Los Angeles Lakers, as they are currently attempting to put a contending team around LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
They would act as a third team in this deal, adding a veteran asset and providing the Pacers with some picks and a young player that the Pelicans would be unwilling to give them.
All three teams would be getting players in this trade that would help them move closer to their end goal. For the Lakers and Pelicans, that would be competing for the playoffs, and for the Pacers, that would be rebuilding.
New Orleans Pelicans</a> made things happen last season. After struggling to start off the season, they battled all the way back, eventually winning both play-in games.</p>
<p>Not only did they earn the eighth seed in the playoffs, but they put up a valiant effort against the first-seeded Phoenix Suns. Their young players and veterans put on a real show.</p>
<p>They made a real splash at the trade deadline, <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2022/07/14/nba-trades-buddy-hield-new-orleans-pelicans/2/"https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/33244215/sources-portland-trail-blazers-sending-cj-mccollum-new-orleans-pelicans-part-trade" target="_blank" rel="noopener">adding shooting guard CJ McCollum</a> to the squad, and the addition really helped shape the rest of the season for them.</p>
<h2>NBA Trades: 3-teamer would land Buddy Hield on New Orleans Pelicans</h2>
<p>He helped mentor the younger players on the team, who also added a ton of value during the postseason. Guys like Jose Alvarado, Trey Murphy, and Herbert Jones all played huge roles for the Pelicans in the playoffs.</p>
<p>New Orleans showed just enough last season to the point where there are going to be some expectations for them heading into next year. They’ll be expected to not only make the playoffs, but advance.</p>
<p>With Zion Williamson set to make his return, the Pelicans should be able to make some noise, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t some holes on their roster that need to be filled.</p>
<p>One area of need for New Orleans is three-point shooting. They were the fourth-worst three-point shooting team in the NBA last year, so adding some shooting would be ideal.</p>
<p>Since free agency has dried up, for the most part, attacking the trade market should be a good idea for the Pelicans, and this three-team trade would help them do just that.</p>
