5 roster moves the Detroit Pistons need to make this offseason

The Detroit Pistons are continuing to rebuild their franchise since they last made the playoffs back in the 2019 season. They were swept in the first round, which is the same result that they suffered in the past two visits to the playoffs. In fact, the last time they won a playoff game was back in 2008.
They are starting to develop a really solid young core around the first-overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, Cade Cunningham. After just a few weeks after getting healthy, Cunningham showed us all why he was taken with the top pick.
Surrounding Cunningham are players the Pistons have drafted over the past few seasons. Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, and Killian Hayes are all developing into a fairly cohesive unit. They are learning how to play the NBA game together which is going to bode well for the team in the coming years. Let’s take a look at the moves they can make this offseason to keep them going in the right direction.
Roster moves the Detroit Pistons need to make this offseason: 1. Re-sign Marvin Bagley
The Pistons made a really good deal when they moved two future second-round draft picks, Josh Jackson, and Trey Lyles to land Marvin Bagley as part of a four-team deal. To say that the Pistons won this trade is an understatement.
Bagley played 18 games, starting eight of them, and he averaged 14.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 27.2 minutes per game. The connection he had with the young core of guards improved the Pistons as a unit. With further time together, Bagley will continue to help this team build toward the future.
