With the deadline coming up shortly, NBA trades are going to start flowing in. One of the hottest commodities in the league right now is Detroit Pistons forward Jerami Grant.

The 27-year-old forward signed on with the Pistons a couple of offseasons ago, and he’s been putting up solid numbers ever since. He’s missed time this year with a thumb injury but has still played in 24 games.

Grant has reportedly received interest from a variety of different teams. This list includes teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, and Chicago Bulls.

The Lakers even supposedly offered Talen Horton-Tucker and a 2027 First-Round Pick in exchange for Grant, but Detroit declined that offer.

There have been some new developments in the case of Grant, though. Recent NBA rumors have revealed that Grant gave the Pistons a list of preferred destinations ahead of the deadline.

The news came via Brian Windhorst of ESPN, who detailed an exchange between Grant’s representatives and the Pistons organization.

According to Windhorst, they gave him a list of squads he’d most like to be traded to if Detroit does end up trading him:

“I was told his representation came to the Pistons and said ‘If you’re going to trade him, here’s a list of teams we would be interested in going to play for.”

The list of teams was not revealed, but there is one detail that Windhorst brought up. Wherever Grant does get traded, he wants to get paid this summer.

“He still wants to sign a contract extension this summer. I think he’s eligible for one over one hundred million. If he gets traded somewhere, he wants to get traded somewhere he’s going to get paid.”

Grant signed on for roughly $20 million per season when he inked his original deal with the Detroit Pistons, and now he’s looking for more. But that’s not the only thing Grant wants.

Another report noted that Grant wants to go to a team where he can still be a primary option on the offensive side of the ball. He doesn’t want to have to defer to two or three other stars.

So, as the trade deadline inches closer and close, make sure to keep an eye on Jerami Grant. The Detroit Pistons power forward might be on the move, but it might not be to the team that you think.
