NBA Trades: 3 Utah Jazz trades to help Donovan Mitchell win: Atlanta Hawks
Jazz receive: John Collins
Hawks receive: Jarred Vanderbilt, Bojan Bogdanovic, 2023 1st-Round Pick (via BKN, HOU, or PHI), 2027 1st-Round Pick
The Hawks already made one huge move this offseason when they traded for Dejounte Murray. In this deal, they’d be shipping out Collins in exchange for a defensive-minded forward, a veteran, and picks.
Over the course of this past season, Vanderbilt proved to be an extremely valuable asset for the Timberwolves. His constant hustle, great rebounding, and intense defense would make him an intriguing fit alongside Murray and Trae Young.
Bogdanovic is mainly in this deal to match salaries, but he’d essentially bring the Hawks exactly what Galilnari gave them last season, and he’s on the last year of his deal anyway.
Most importantly, though, the Hawks would be receiving two first-round picks in the trade. That would help them recuperate their asset of picks after dealing most of them to the Spurs.
On the flip side, the Jazz would be getting a star to pair alongside Mitchell. If put in the right situation, Collins is a player that can give them 20 points and 10 rebounds a night, which would put him in All-Star contention.
They can afford to give up these picks since they got a haul of draft capital back in return for Gobert, and getting Mitchell another star to play with will be crucial.
Utah Jazz just completed what might be the biggest trade of the offseason. Utah <a href=https://hoopshabit.com/2022/07/02/nba-trades-utah-jazz-donovan-mitchell/2/"https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/34180894/sources-utah-jazz-trading-star-center-rudy-gobert-minnesota-timberwolves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sent Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a bunch of players and a ton of picks.

In total, the Jazz received Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Balmaro, and Walker Kessler. As far as picks go, they got unprotected first-rounders in 2023, 2025, and 2027, a pick swap in 2026, and a top-five protected pick in 2029.

Danny Ainge and the rest of Utah’s front office very clearly values picks, which begs the question – what is their goal? Do they want to build around Donovan Mitchell? Or are they going to trade him?

All rumors have stated that they want to build around Mitchell, which means big trades would still have to be on the way. What three trades could the Jazz pull off next to help Mitchell?

NBA Trades: 3 Utah Jazz trades to help Donovan Mitchell win: New York Knicks

Jazz receive: Evan Fournier, Cam Reddish

Knicks receive: Bojan Bogdanovic, 2026 1st-Round Pick (Lottery Protected)

In this trade, the Knicks would be focusing on one thing – getting off of Fournier’s three-year contract. He’s on a long-term deal, and this would get some money off their books two years early.

Reddish would be included, too, as the Jazz are likely going to be looking for perimeter defenders this summer. Plus, Fournier and Reddish have reportedly been shopped around by the Knicks.

New York would still get a first for their troubles, though, because they wouldn’t be getting any value in return. Plus, the Jazz have plenty of picks, so they’d probably be willing to pay for wing help.

Fournier may not be the player he once was, but he could still play a fairly big role for Utah. And on top of that, Reddish would give them the aforementioned much-needed defensive help on the perimeter.
