NBA Trades: 3 Utah Jazz trades to help Donovan Mitchell win: Atlanta Hawks

Jazz receive: John Collins

Hawks receive: Jarred Vanderbilt, Bojan Bogdanovic, 2023 1st-Round Pick (via BKN, HOU, or PHI), 2027 1st-Round Pick

The Hawks already made one huge move this offseason when they traded for Dejounte Murray. In this deal, they’d be shipping out Collins in exchange for a defensive-minded forward, a veteran, and picks.

Over the course of this past season, Vanderbilt proved to be an extremely valuable asset for the Timberwolves. His constant hustle, great rebounding, and intense defense would make him an intriguing fit alongside Murray and Trae Young.

Bogdanovic is mainly in this deal to match salaries, but he’d essentially bring the Hawks exactly what Galilnari gave them last season, and he’s on the last year of his deal anyway.

Most importantly, though, the Hawks would be receiving two first-round picks in the trade. That would help them recuperate their asset of picks after dealing most of them to the Spurs.

On the flip side, the Jazz would be getting a star to pair alongside Mitchell. If put in the right situation, Collins is a player that can give them 20 points and 10 rebounds a night, which would put him in All-Star contention.

They can afford to give up these picks since they got a haul of draft capital back in return for Gobert, and getting Mitchell another star to play with will be crucial.
