The league is in the thick of Summer League play, and the free agency period is cooling down. There are still some significant players available on the market, but the bulk of activity has already ceased.

The NBA is a 24/7 sport, particularly in the offseason, so most of the big deals of the summer are widely known and discussed. Some of the more underrated deals, however, warrant further analysis.

With the NBA offseason slowing down (for now), let’s analyze the five most underrated moves of the summer

Superstars are the players who drive their franchises throughout the regular season and deep into the playoffs. The less heralded players are the ones who help prop up their teams in times of need.

The Golden State Warriors may not have been able to make a title run last year were it not for unsung center Kevon Looney, who re-signed with the team this summer. Grant Williams played a major role in the postseason for the Boston Celtics on their run to the NBA Finals. These are the sleepers that emerge into giants when teams are desperate for help.

Not all of the moves that seem underrated today will work out tomorrow. In some cases, there’s a reason why they flew under the radar. In others, however, teams will rue the opportunity to capitalize and steal a hidden gem.

Feel free to comment with some of the moves you think deserve more attention. Otherwise, here are the five most underrated moves of the offseason.
