Ahead of the trade deadline, it was rumored that Spencer Dinwiddie was resented by his Washington Wizards teammates, and was ran out of D.C. because of his mediocre play.
The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor stated that the Wizards wanted to move on from Dinwiddie not only because his teammates did not want him there, but because he looked like a shell of his former self.

In his 44 games with the Wizards this season, Dinwiddie averaged 12.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.8 assists while shooting 37.6 percent from the field and 31.0 percent from three-point land.
The seven-year veteran especially struggled in his final 10 contests as a Wizard. Over that time span, Dinwiddie put up only 8.3 points a night while shooting 26.6 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from distance.
When the Wizards acquired Dinwiddie this past offseason, they were undoubtedly envisioning the player who was putting up nearly 20 points a night for the Brooklyn Nets not too long ago. But unfortunately, that did not happen.
Everything was going wrong for Dinwiddie until he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. Since being acquired by Dallas, Dinwiddie has looked like the player he was before his ACL injury.
