It’s early during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2018-19 campaign, but we’ve already seen a few offseason moves pay huge dividends for Magic Johnson and co.

Let’s not pretend this has been a dream season for the Los Angeles Lakers through the first few weeks. While that may be the case, there have been plenty of positives for LeBron James and his bunch of misfits to build on as we work our way through the final two months of 2018.

More specifically, we’ve seen a number of the Lakers’ offseason additions return their fair share of value. While not every new member of the club has carried their weight through the early parts of the 2018-19 campaign, it’s become clear that Magic Johnson knew what he was doing this offseason — even if that didn’t always seem to be the situation.

We have to remember that basketball is a team sport. While the team as a whole has underwhelmed thus far, there have been plenty of individual players who have done their part to keep things competitive. In the case of a number of offseason additions, they’ve actually exceeded expectations.

Today, we’re going to pinpoint those specific newcomers who have made their presences felt early in Los Angeles.

So without further ado, here are the three Lakers offseason moves that are already paying big dividends for the franchise. As you’ll soon see, it’s actually the free agency acquisitions who are making the instant impact, which hasn’t been the case for Los Angeles in recent memory.
