We’re just three weeks into the 2018-19 NBA season and the rookies are making an impact. Here’s an updated look at the Rookie of the Year power rankings.

The race for the Rookie of the Year award is just getting started in 2018-19 and it’s getting interesting as teams eclipse the 10-game mark. There aren’t any newcomers on this week’s rankings, but there is a slight shift at the top. Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic and Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young have been themselves and then there’s Phoenix Suns rookie Deandre Ayton, who continues to excel.

Ayton has racked up quite the stat line as the new anchor in the paint for Phoenix. Though the Suns are only 2-9 on the season, it will be interesting to see his development this season, particularly on defense. He’s averaging 1.3 blocks per game in their last four contests.

It’s hard to ignore rookie guard Allonzo Trier and the contributions he’s made with the New York Knicks. Despite going undrafted this past summer, Trier has emerged as a quality guard in the Knicks rotation this season. He put up 23 points against Doncic and the Mavs last Friday night. He’s averaging 11.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this season with the Knicks.

All in all, it’s shaping up to be another solid class of rookies. There are some changes in the ranks though. Here’s a look at the Week 4 power rankings.
