The NBA season is about a month old and the standings are beginning to take shape. There are some clear lottery teams, as well as some clear contenders.

The Golden State Warriors are 11-1, while the Houston Rockets sit at 1-11. Every team is in a very different position at the moment and has decisions to make moving forward.

At the same time, there are some great players on some of the bad teams around the league. A lot of players who are playing for bad teams could be All-Stars if put in the right situation.

3 blockbuster NBA trades that would change the landscape of the league

This is where the NBA trade deadline comes into play. Star players can be traded and put in new situations while contending teams can take that next leap.

However, this always leaves the teams trading away their star player in a very tough situation. They need to find a deal that will see them get an equal, or close to equal, return for what they are giving up.

This is the tricky part of every trade. Both teams want to feel as though they are getting the better end of the deal, and that will usually only end up being the case for one of the two teams.

That’s the goal today – to find trades involving star players around the league that could work out for both sides. It’s not an easy task, but it should be very interesting to see what presents itself.

So, with all that in mind, what would these trades look like? What are blockbuster trades involving star players that would benefit both teams involved?

<div class="details"> <div class="team-name">Mavericks Get</div> <div class="info">Kyle Anderson</div> <div class="info">Steven Adams</div> <div class="info">2022 First-Round Pick (via LAL)</div> <div class="info">2024 Second-Round Pick (via TOR)</div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <p><strong>Grizzlies receive: Kristaps Porzingis, Sterling Brown</strong></p> <p><strong>Mavericks receive: Steven Adams, Kyle Anderson, 2022 First-Round Pick (via LAL), 2024 Second-Round Pick (via TOR)</strong></p> <p>Rumors of a Kristaps Porzingis trade have been swirling around since the end of last season. He didn&rsquo;t play too well in the playoffs and has even struggled a bit to start the season this year, too.</p> <p>However, he has shown some real promise in recent games. Over his last five games, Porzingis has averaged 21.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from deep.</p> <p>Back in his days with New York, he was an elite defender as well. If Memphis can get him back to that level, he would be a big-time help on that end.</p> <p>Even if they aren&rsquo;t able to, he would still pair nicely next to Jaren Jackson Jr. in the frontcourt. Either one could play the center position, and both are fully capable of stretching the floor for Ja Morant, who does most of his work in the paint.</p> <p>Meanwhile, Memphis is able to keep all of their young assets on the team. However, the Mavericks would get some much-needed depth alongside Luka Doncic.</p> <p>Steven Adams played the best basketball of his career next to an elite playmaker in Russell Westbrook. In Dallas, he would be an elite pick n&rsquo; roll threat next to Doncic.</p> <p>As for Kyle Anderson, is a great 3&amp;D guy to pair with Doncic. The Mavs need three-point shooting help, as well as help on the defensive end, and he gives them both of those things.</p> <p>Memphis would get to take a chance on a former superstar in the making, while Dallas gets some depth. This seems like a win-win trade for both sides.</p> <div class="next-slide slider"> <a class="next-slide-btn" style="background:#bb2c32" data-track="shortcode" data-track-action="next-slide-shortcode" href=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/11/17/nba-trades-blockbuster-surprise/"#"> <span class="title">Next:</span>&nbsp;Trade #2 </a> </div><!—pageview_candidate—><hr id="pagebreak"><div id="attachment_438176" class="wp-caption aligncenter"> <img class="size-full wp-image-438176" src=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/11/17/nba-trades-blockbuster-surprise/"https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/fetch/c_fill,g_auto,f_auto,h_1066,w_1600/http%3A%2F%2Fhoopshabit.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Fgetty-images%2F2017%2F07%2F1294484361.jpeg" alt="NBA" width="1600" height="1066" srcset="https://hoopshabit.com/wp-content/uploads/getty-images/2017/07/1294484361.jpeg 1600w, https://hoopshabit.com/wp-content/uploads/getty-images/2017/07/1294484361-768x512.jpeg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1600px) 100vw, 1600px"><div class="fs-center-img"> <p class="wp-caption-text" style="width:1600px;">Terry Rozier #3 of the Charlotte Hornets tries to steal from Ben Simmons #25 of the Philadelphia 76ers (Photo by Tim Nwachukwu/Getty Images)</p> </div> </div> <h2>3 blockbuster trades involving star NBA players: Ben Simmons trade to the Charlotte Hornets</h2> <div class="fs-shortcode" data-type="Trade" data-team-ids="[170,93]" data-team-gets='[["Ben Simmons"],["Gordon Hayward","Ish Smith","2026 Second-Round Pick"]]'> <div class="playertrade remove-native-227"> <div class="trade"> <div class="team a"> <div class="logo"><img src=https://hoopshabit.com/2021/11/17/nba-trades-blockbuster-surprise/"https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/fetch/w_75,h_75,c_fill,g_auto,f_auto/https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.fansided.com%2Flogos%2Fnba%2Fhornets.png">
