The New York Knicks have been one of the more disappointing teams so far this season. The offseason moves they made haven’t exactly worked out in the way they wanted them to.

Kemba Walker has been relegated to the bench, and though Evan Fournier has picked things up, he hasn’t been nearly as consistent as most hoped he would be.

In addition, New York’s defense has fallen off a cliff this season. They were one of the top defensive teams in the league last year, and that’s simply not the case anymore.

The Knicks currently sit at 12-15 on the season, good for 12th in the East. Here are three NBA trades they could pull off that would propel them back into the playoff race.

NBA trades to help the New York Knicks make the playoffs: Indiana Pacers

Knicks receive: Justin Holiday, Torrey Craig

Pacers receive: Kevin Knox, Quentin Grimes, 2023 Second-Round Pick, 2025 Second-Round Pick

Not all of these trades have to be blockbusters, so let’s start out with a lowkey deal. The trade would see the Knicks get two quality defenders who fit their system to a tee.

Tom Thibodeau loves two things – defense and threes. Both Justin Holiday and Torrey Craig are proficient in both of those areas.

Having some extra wing depth off the bench could be a huge help for the Knicks. Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers would receive two young players and two seconds.

Kevin Knox hasn’t shown much in his NBA career thus far, but Quentin Grimes has the potential to be a great scorer in this league. With the Pacers holding a fire sale, this would be an easy deal to make for them.
