Jrue Holiday is playing at an All-Star caliber level for the Milwaukee Bucks this season.

On Friday night, Jrue Holiday returned to his old stomping grounds of New Orleans to face his former team, the Pelicans. In the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton, Holiday exploded for 40 points.

Jrue Holiday of the Milwaukee Bucks has only made the NBA All-Star team once in his 13-year career. He should make the team again this season.

It was a virtuoso performance that saw Holiday barely miss out on leading the short-handed Bucks to a victory over their opponent whose roster was much closer to full strength.

Playing at a high level is nothing new for Holiday. Game 7 of last year’s Eastern Conference semi-finals against the Brooklyn Nets will always be remembered for the great back-and-forth duel between Kevin Durant and Antetokounmpo.

However, it was Holiday’s three clutch-time baskets late in the fourth quarter that helped Milwaukee stay alive down the stretch. Without those points, the team would not have been able to survive regulation and go on to win the game in overtime.

Jrue Holiday is in his thirteenth NBA season and he has only been selected to the NBA All-Star team one time. The Milwaukee Bucks are currently third in the Eastern Conference and are once again among the favorites to make it to the NBA Finals.

None of this would be possible if it were not for Holiday’s steady leadership from the point guard position. Let’s take a closer look at why Holiday deserves to make the second All-Star game appearance of his career this season.
