Ayo Dosunmu has the potential to earn significant playing time for the Chicago Bulls as a rookie.

The Bulls did not have a first-round pick in the 2021 NBA draft. However, with the 38th overall pick, they were able to select a First Team All-American who also received the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award. Adding a player with those types of accolades and three years of college experience under his belt would be considered a win for any organization. The fact that the kid is a Chicago native who is eager to suit up for the team he grew up rooting for is icing on the cake.

The Chicago Bulls selected Ayo Dosunmu with the 38th pick in the 2021 NBA draft. He has the potential to become an immediate part of their game plan.

Standing 6’5″ and weighing 200 lbs., Ayo Dosunmu has a great body for the shooting guard position in the NBA. He also has the luxury of learning how to play the position from Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, two players whose accomplishments have led them to the NBA All-Star game. However, adjustment periods are never easy for rookies, no matter how talented they are. Unlike Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons, Dosunmu will not be handed the keys to the organization when he arrives at training camp.

Head coach Billy Donovan is a basketball aficionado with a track record of success at both the college and pro levels. In order to get into the rotation, he must prove he can contribute while on the floor. Let’s take a closer look at the areas in which Dosunmu must excel to help this team with legitimate playoff aspirations.
