As the 2022 NBA trade deadline approaches, the Washington Wizards should be aggressively pursuing Indiana Pacers All-Star forward Domantas Sabonis. With just a few days left until Thursday’s buzzer, Washington seems to be focused on acquiring the talented big man to bolster their roster moving forward.

This was recently reported by Washington Wizards insider Quinton Mayo:

“The Washington Wizards have zeroed in on Indiana Pacers 2x All-Star Domantas Sabonis. Washington recently submitted an offer for the 25-year-old and are waiting to hear back.”

Since the Pacers are heading toward a rebuild, they have reportedly made Sabonis available in trade talks alongside other experienced contributors on the roster. Indiana should receive multiple offers for Sabonis in these next few days, and perhaps the Wizards could construct the best package ahead of the deadline.

With the NBA trade deadline on the horizon, we take a look at three potential trade packages that the Washington Wizards can offer for Domantas Sabonis.

The Wizards currently sit at 11th in the Eastern Conference standings with a 24-28 record, just outside of the playoff picture. Despite a hot start to the season, they have been struggling as of late.

Pressure is now mounting for general manager Tommy Shepard and the front office to make a significant move with the uncertain future of superstar Bradley Beal looming. Beal has been extremely loyal and patient with the Wizards, but the organization’s lack of contention could force him to leave if his priorities remain to win games and compete for a championship.

It seems like Washington may need to acquire an impactful star-caliber talent to convince Beal to stay long-term, and the sooner the better. Pairing Beal with two-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis could be the key to his commitment while reviving the winning culture amongst the franchise.

Without further ado, let’s look at three potential trade offers for Domantas Sabonis from the Washington Wizards.

<div class="details"> <div class="team-name">Pacers Get</div> <div class="info">Rui Hachimura</div> <div class="info">Corey Kispert</div> <div class="info">Thomas Bryant</div> <div class="info">2022 first-round pick</div> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <p>Initially, the Washington Wizards could offer Rui Hachimura, Corey Kispert, Thomas Bryant, and a 2022 first-round pick in exchange for Domantas Sabonis.</p> <p>Hachimura, a 23-year-old forward, is still a promising, versatile prospect that has room to grow on both ends of the floor. The former lottery pick out of Gonzaga would likely entice the Pacers as the most attractive asset in the package.</p> <p>Kispert is a promising rookie that is an excellent shooter and multi-dimensional scorer. The 22-year-old was drafted 15th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, two selections after the Pacers took Chris Duarte with the 13th pick. Kispert was reportedly a serious option for Indiana in the draft if Duarte would have been off the board.</p> <p>Bryant would mostly serve as a salary filler due to his $8.6 million expiring contract, but the Pacers could be interested in seeing how the former Indiana University star fits into the squad while acquiring his bird rights. He would be worth the look.</p> <p>Needless to say, the first-round pick would certainly provide value to the Pacers as they drift into the rebuilding stage. Adding three young assets to the pick could easily be an intriguing package from the Wizards for Indiana to consider. The money would work in this scenario as well</p> <p>This is certainly be a realistic deal that takes place before Thursday’s trade deadline.</p> <div class="next-slide slider"> <a class="next-slide-btn" style="background:#222423" data-track="shortcode" data-track-action="next-slide-shortcode" href=https://hoopshabit.com/2022/02/07/nba-trades-wizards-domantas-sabonis/"#"> <span class="title">Next:</span> No. 2 </a> </div><!—pageview_candidate—><hr id="pagebreak"><div id="attachment_441728" class="wp-caption aligncenter"> <img class="wp-image-441728 size-full" src=https://hoopshabit.com/2022/02/07/nba-trades-wizards-domantas-sabonis/"https://images2.minutemediacdn.com/image/fetch/c_fill,g_auto,f_auto,h_2130,w_3200/http%3A%2F%2Fhoopshabit.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2Fgetty-images%2F2018%2F08%2F1309843744.jpeg" alt="NBA Trades: 3 Wizards trades offers for Domantas Sabonis" width="3200" height="2130" srcset="https://hoopshabit.com/wp-content/uploads/getty-images/2018/08/1309843744.jpeg 3200w, https://hoopshabit.com/wp-content/uploads/getty-images/2018/08/1309843744-768x511.jpeg 768w" sizes="(max-width: 3200px) 100vw, 3200px"><div class="fs-center-img"> <p class="wp-caption-text" style="width:3200px;">WASHINGTON, DC – MARCH 29: Domantas Sabonis #11 of the Indiana Pacers is fouled by Deni Avdija #9 of the Washington Wizards during the second half at Capital One Arena on March 29, 2021 in Washington, DC, NBA Trades: 3 Wizards trades offer for Domantas Sabonis.
