Kevin Durant trolls Skip Bayless in latest Twitter feud

Skip Bayless is a journalist and Kevin Durant is an NBA superstar. Two vastly different professions that collide following games, often on Twitter.

Very rarely do we see any sort of feud between the two occupations spiral out of control, but on Tuesday night, an interaction reached the point where it became a headline of the night candidate. With a single tweet.

While Stephen Curry was busy trolling the Knicks and making history as the all-time three-point shooter at Madison Square Garden, Durant was responding to a tweet by Bayless.

Despite Skip Bayless praising Durant while also bringing down LeBron James simultaneously, the two-time Finals MVP didn’t accept the respect. Instead, he had a not-so-pleasant reaction.

Oof. I don’t think Skip Bayless will sleep much after this, and surely Bayless’ co-host Shannon Sharpe is bound to have a field day with this, right? Unlike the former thought, the latter is correct, but Bayless can take it.

This is more about Kevin Durant. For all his greatness, he’s still not shy about going after reporters and responding to critics. However, there are times that he has been completely justified in his actions.

That said, Durant has a history of responding back when situations arise. Durant has been known to come off as a bit sensitive, including a conversation with Sharpe that generated a buzz because of what was reported as Sharpe misconstruing a quote by Durant.

Notably, Sharpe blocked Durant in the end. It seems like that’s how feuds are resolved on Twitter these days.

There was also the beef with former teammate Kendrick Perkins, now at ESPN, and debating on occasion with Stephen A Smith, another member of the Durant Family Feud.

Kevin Durant will clap back. It’s his nature, and you have to deal with it.

We could go on and on about Durant having a feud with this guy, and that guy, the one with CJ McCollum. The burner account, the clapping back at his critics when he won a ring – the list goes on and on.

There’s also no need to remind everyone about the interaction with Michael Rapoport that will likely top them all. Notably, due to a private conversation using derogatory words that, when leaked, sparked headlines.

What does this all mean? Truth be told, it’s just a repeat of a saga, and, like Hayden Christensen’s performance as Anakin Skywalker, it’s comical.

KD’s initial interactions were like Jurassic Park, it had reasons to be expected, and it turned out quite well. Recently though, like all the other movies in the series, every beef comes off as heavily magnified but to no real gossip (except for the Rapoport incident).

Durant is Durant. Bayless is Bayless. They are who they are. Sure, the names will generate attention, but how long is this really going to last? You decide. But do it carefully, or Durant might come for you next like he did Bayless.
